Welcome to the NACS: The Next Decade information page, your resource for understanding the district’s current needs and future plans. As our community continues to grow, so do the demands on our schools. Here, you’ll find details about funding challenges, ongoing and upcoming projects, presentations, and direct links to the school board. Our goal is to keep the community informed about the district’s development, ensuring transparency and engagement in shaping the future of our schools. 

  • The NACS district is planning several potential construction projects to support its growing community and enhance educational opportunities.

    Proposed projects include…

    • A new Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Alternative School Facility.
    • A larger Transportation Facility.
    • A larger natatorium (with support from community partners).
    • A ninth elementary school.
    • A Pre-K Facilty/Space.
    • Turfed baseball, softball, and soccer fields.
    • Renovations to both the existing natatorium and transportation facility.

     

    Additional Items include...

    • Upgrade safety software
    • Upgrade district cameras

     

    These projects aim to accommodate growth, expand educational programs, and provide improved facilities for students and staff.

  • INCREASING WAGES

    The NACS district recognizes the importance of attracting and retaining high-quality staff to support its growing schools and programs. To remain competitive, the district aims to increase the teacher base salary to at least $50,000 and the classified base wage to at least $15.00/hour, ensuring consistent salary increases among current staff while addressing pay gaps at the 5- and 10-year marks.

    To support the continued growth of the district and provide a high-quality education and services, NACS is prioritizing key staffing needs across various departments. These positions are essential to maintaining a safe learning environment, enhancing academic programs, and ensuring efficient district operations.

    • Safety
      • (4) - Additional School Resource Officers
      • (1) - School Safety Specialist
    • Instructional Staff
      • (8) - Elementary STEM Teachers
      • (2) - English Language Learners Teachers
      • (4) - High Ability Teachers
      • (12) - Place an instructional coach at each building
      • Additional Instructional Assistant hours at each elementary school
    • Student Support Staff 
      • ​​​​​​​(3) - Social Workers
      • (6) - Elementary Deans to Assistant Principals
      • (2) - Director of Teaching and Learning - Elementary (1) and Secondary (1)
      • (1) - Grants Coordinator
      • (1) - Assistant Director of Special Education
      • Extend nursing coverage for all buildings
      • Maintain guidance counselors and assistant principals at each middle school (3 per building)
    • CTE Facility Operations
      • ​​​​​​​Teachers/Guidance CTE
        • Minimum of 8 to cover programing
        • Alternative Ed - 4 teachers
        • Work Based Learning Counselor
        • Guidance Counselor
      • Support Staff
        • Administrative Assistant Classroom Assistant - 2 to 4 positions

    These strategic staffing initiatives aim to ensure the district can effectively meet the needs of students, staff, and the community.

Feedback from our Strategic Plan Survey

In August 2023, we shared our Strategic Plan. This plan will be a living document to help us achieve our vision of a strong community where all can belong, grow, connect, and lead. During it’s creation, the district received feedback from 6,467 survey participants including students, parents/guardians, community members, teachers, staff members, administrators, and board members.
